About Me
Dr. Qian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University (WSU). He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. His Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering is from the University of California, Davis. He has strong theoretical foundations and practical experience in transportation engineering. His research interests are in the areas of transportation equity, emerging mobilities (e.g., shared micro-mobility and CAVs), transportation safety and health, and GIS in transportation planning. He has scientific and technical publications in several journals, e.g., Journal of Transportation Research Part A, Journal of Transportation Research Part D, Journal of Transport Geography, and Journal of Transport and Health. Prof. Qian has successfully received funding from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) three years in a row, managing a total of approximately $300,000.

Dr. Qian has been honored with an award from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in partnership with Michigan's Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
